What? NO!! The ban has been lifted this last year, but also, those who had them before the ban were OK with keeping them. I had gotten Matisse before the ban went into effect, so as long as I didn't take him to public places or outside he was fine. He passed away over a year ago, before the ban was lifted, sadly.

thats one big rat! kinda scary but cool trick

I think that's brilliant! Is this just 'trick' behavior, or does your rat have free-range access to your home and use the toilet regularly? PS Can you teach my dogs to do that? Backyard pooper-scooper duty is not fun ;p

That is absolutely lovely. Giant, highly intelligent rat... having a NORMAL bowel movement YAYYYYYyy. Sorry, it's just too cute. Wow, I definitely want one.

You're right, that was not too smart. An impressive (clever!) animal it is.

As dangerous as your dog or kid or yourself, I would assume. Except he also had antibiotics a few times in his life for an infection on his nose from rubbing it raw so I'd think he'd be even cleaner. Especially since he never went outside to pick up more gunk nor did he go to a day care with other diseased kids. Seriously though, that was a dumb question. The fact that ONE imported from the wild had a disease doesn't mean those captive bred for many generations do. Like a wild dog vs a purebred. |
