The "blip" is the quick stab at the throttle to bring the engine revs up to match the transmission revs.

My Maserati used to downshift to 2nd while going 90mph around a... 90 degree curb. That' s because it got up to 9000rpm.And this was in the... 80s!Try that with a non- Italian car and you' ll be cooking kebab out of the engine!!

actualy, he's not matching the rpms like a truck. he's just revving it up before he lets the clutch out to make it smoother. notice his tranny doesn't grind :D |
