Thats anal glands. They are glands just inside the dogs butt. Sometimes they collect fluid from defication and need to be what is called expressed.

eric, would you recommend to always use shampoo when bathing every season, or just if the dog's coat is really dirty?

eric, would you recommend to use shampoo or only water? i have a border collie but no matter how dirty he got in the last month, his coat is still bright white. so would only water do it's job, too or is using shampoo from time to time better for a good care?

I have a boxer/pit mix and she doesn't like the bath. Is there any tricks to help them enjoy it more?
