She was okay when we left her at the hospital.Since we don't usually follow a patient's progress once we leave them at the Emergency Room, I don't know how she is now.I'm guessing she's okay, b/c she was placed in the care of a good Emergency surgeon. Also, her windpipe and the two arteries that supply the brain w/ oxygen were intact.

Our ambulance unit took a call where a girl's throat had been slit from ear to ear. She was able to talk because the blade hadn't penetrated all the way through the windpipe, which paramedics call the trachea.You have to slice in pretty far to go all the way through; I'm not going to say how far, but I guarantee it's not in the least way easy to accomplish.
